In our fast-developing world, people need to be aware of how the accelerating pace of technological change will alter their lives and work patterns in the future.
In the 20th century, science and technology brought about phenomenal change. Now at the dawn of the 21st century, a new era has begun. Created by a renaissance in science and technology, it is being driven by emergent
technologies ranging from the Internet to nanotechnology. They provide the foundations for sustainable wealth creation, future prosperity and the global economy.
More than ever before, people who are empowered to make strategic plans and investment decisions that will have a profound impact on the economic and social development of society will require the necessary knowledge and tools. Roadmapping is the tool for this purpose.
This book shows how roadmapping can prepare policy-makers, planners and others for the challenges and changes that lie ahead. It provides the reader with a comprehensive introduction on roadmapping methodology and extracts from existing roadmaps covering the key sectors of industry.
